Fresh off the release of their split LP with Lentic Waters, Germany’s Planks have announced the release of their new LP Funeral Mouth, coming on October 12th, and with it have posted the first salvo in a new song ‘An Exorcism of Sorts’. The song is their usual blend dispirited sludgy hardcore that’s not afraid to flirt with heavy levels of melody. In fact, there are moments on this track that take from Mastodon’s Leviathan era while the despondent chimes of their Joy Division fandom rustles vaguely underneath, as usual. Have a listen below:
