It’s been too long since we heard anything from Neurosis, though their individual components have been working on other projects, like Scott Kelly. They began writing their new album in early 2011, the follow-up to 2007’s Given To The Rising. Needless to say, a new album is eagerly anticipated and the band re-emerged last summer for a run of European festivals, playing two new songs entitled ‘Killing Elk’ and ‘In A Well’, both sounding utterly fierce, particularly the latter, and 12 months later they appear to have reared their heads again; unsurprisingly in ambiguous fashion. The band’s own label Neurot Recordings have posted two cryptic videos entitled Neurosis: Electrical Transmission I and II. They reveal little but is this a nod to the new record nearing completion?
