John Petrucci announced today via his twitter that Dream Theater were finishing the recording of their new album this week:

Jordan Rudess also posted a very brief audio update on Wednesday morning stating that he had completed all his keyboard tracks. “The new album is turning out so well, I’m really excited to play it for all of you and I’m also very excited to hit the road this summer,” he added.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Mike Mangini is the new drummer in Dream Theater and this will be the first DT record with Mike Portnoy behind the kit. The album is slated for an autumn release, with band going on tour this summer, which includes a headlining set at London’s High Voltage festival in July.
